Cold Shot by Dani Pettrey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
All fans of Dani Pettrey have been anxiously awaiting the first book, Cold Shot in her new series Chesapeake Valor.
Our hero is Griffin McCray, who is a Chief Ranger at the Gettysburg National Military Park and was a sniper on the SWAT team. Our heroine is Dr. Finley (that is an interesting name) Scott who is an archaeologist. The story opens with Griffin and Finley having worked together for the past 6 months. A body is found in the park and Finley helps determine it is a recent death. They call in their friends who consist of Declan, an FBI agent, Kate, a computer genius, and Parker, a crime scene analyst and his new assistant. We learn that Griffin, Parker and Declan have been lifelong friends until something came between them. They also have a friend Luke who has been missing and who Kate is in love with.
In Cold Shot we there is just as much mystery surrounding the characters as there is in finding the killer. I found the information about snipers fascinating.
There are plenty of characters and mystery for Pettrey to write a series. We cannot wait for the next book where we hope to find Luke and Jennifer’s killer.
