Summary
The View from Rainshadow Bay is the first book in a new series by Colleen Coble. The opening scene steals your attention and doesn't let up. Shauna is a single mom raising her 5 year old son. Her occupation was interesting as the owner of a helicopter charter business. I enjoy reading about women with interesting professions and skill sets. I was disappointed that she blamed Zach for her husband’s death and was downright mean to him. (Admittedly I have not been in a situation like that but I hope I would not react that way).
Zach is a great guy both to her and her son and the community. He immediately agrees to protect her and Alex and to help her find out what happened to her business partner who was like a father to her. Her father is a drunk after her mom passed away. I found the story line unusual which is refreshing when you read so many books. There are lots of characters and lots of suspects. Coble has a reputation of sprinkling in surprises and plot twists throughout her stories and this is no exception.
Sexual content - kissing, hugging
violence - murders, not detailed, someone trying to stop her from researching the murders
