Book Title: Unscrambled Eggs
Book Author: Nadia Brown
What do you like about this book:
A great collection of poetry on topics common in most of our lives. Some of the poems are light and airy while others are deep and dark. One of my favorite poems is Blind Eyes Become Open. The poem is about racism and the last three lines of the poem rang very true for me.
“blind eyes become open”
“when they walk in the shoes”
“of those they oppress”
The author’s style takes some acclimation as she does not use punctuation or capital letters in most of her poems and she doesn’t use a rhyming scheme.
The poems are clean and would be appropriate for any age, but perhaps would be best appreciated and understood by the more mature reader with a fair amount of life experiences.
