When truth doesn’t make sense, will lies prevail?
Cathy Cramer is a former lawyer and investigative blogger who writes commentary on high-profile homicides. When she finds a threatening note warning her that she’s about to experience the same kind of judgment and speculation that she dishes out in her blog, Cathy writes it off as mischief . . . until her brother’s wife is murdered and all the “facts” point to him. The killer has staged the crime to make the truth too far-fetched to believe. Working to solve the murder and clear her brother’s name, Cathy and her two sisters, Holly and Juliet, moonlight as part-time private investigators. Juliet, a stay-at-home mom of two boys, and Holly, a scattered ne’er-do-well who drives a taxi, put aside their fear to hunt down the real killer.
Stakes rise when their brother’s grieving five-year-old son is kidnapped. As police focus on the wrong set of clues, the three sisters and their battered detective friend are the only hope for solving this bizarre crime, saving the child, and freeing their brother.

Summary
Overall Truth Stained Lies by Terry Blackstock is a Christian suspense with a little tiny bit of romance. I listened to an audiobook. I think I would have enjoyed it even more if I read it. Cathy appears extremely whiny in the first part of the book. However I think it is the audiobook and not the actual story. I encourage you to hold on and not get discouraged with her. The storyline involves three sisters and a brother who is accused of killing his estranged wife. No one is believing him when he says
clown walked out of her house as he was pulling to the curb. In addition to the mystery, there is a lot of family drama. Blackstock writes about real people with human problems; this is not a fairytale. Each of the sisters has their own problems that they are dealing. Cathy is the blogger who recently started receiving threatening notes. Juliet is the stay at home mom with a work aholic husband. Holly is the wild child who drives a taxi and has her own secrets. Lots of reallife questions on why do bad things happen to good people. And although this is a Christian fiction book you have a lot of nonbelievers and believers struggling with their faith. Great dialogue and conversations when you're struggling with your faith and bitterness. The story opens up fast pace and within the first chapter the mystery is in full swing.
Violence The sister in law is murdered. Someone is threatening Cathy. and the nephew is poisoned and kidnapped.
Drug & Alcohol Holly talks about going out drinking and dancing and it doesn't end well. It is not glamorized.
