Eden Christiansen never imagined her role as her younger brother Owen’s cheerleader would keep her on the sidelines of her own life. Sure, it feels good to be needed, but looking after the reckless NHL rookie leaves little time for Eden to focus on her own career. She dreamed of making a name for herself as a reporter, but is stuck writing obits—and starting to fear she doesn’t have the chops to land a major story. If only someone would step up to mentor Owen . . . but she knows better than to expect help from team veteran and bad-boy enforcer Jace Jacobsen.
Jace has built his career on the infamous reputation of his aggressive behavior—on and off the ice. Now at a crossroads about his future in hockey, that reputation has him trapped. And the guilt-trip he’s getting from Eden Christiansen isn’t making things any easier. But when Owen’s carelessness leads to a career-threatening injury and Eden stumbles upon a story that could be her big break, she and Jace are thrown together . . . and begin to wonder if they belong on the same team after all.

Summary
Overall I was surprised at how It Had To be You captured me from the first few pages. This is my first book in the Christianson family series. Although this book it is not a mystery you are holding your breath throughout the book wondering what will happen next or how the current situation with resolve itself. The book has a magic about
it that captures you and doesn't let go. There are actually three very intense storylines and all three were very emotional and brought tears to my eyes. All of
the characters in this book are incredible. There were no insignificant characters!!! Eden is a character you will instantly fall in love with. You will laugh, cry and
be humiliated (hockey date) right along with her as she finds her purpose in life and possibly the love of her life. The opening letter touched my heart. Jace is adorable. The author shares Jace’s point of view which just incites you to fall in love with him even more. The car ride to her parents was funny and oh so realistic :). Jace is a very successful hockey player and team captain of the team Eden’s brother just got recruited to. Sam and Maddy's story was heartbreaking. I was holding my breath not knowing what Susan would put us through. I will be reading the rest of the books in the series!
Violence There is some hockey fighting some might consider this violence.
