In preparation for their long-awaited wedding day, Dayne and Katy are determined to keep the ceremony a secret from the paparazzi. Their relationship grows closer and stronger as they plan together, but in the end it takes the help of the Baxter family and many of the CKT kids so that they’ll even have a chance at a private wedding. John Baxter is thrilled that his oldest son will be settling down a few miles away, but he isn’t sure how any of his kids will handle a situation he can no longer run from—the feelings he is having for his friend Elaine. In the meantime, the Flanigan family is struggling with their young boarder, Cody Coleman, Jim Flanigan’s star receiver. After an alcohol overdose, Cody fights for his life. Only God’s grace and a miracle can bring him back from the brink of death—physically and spiritually.

Summary
If you don't normally read a lot of Karen Kingsbury, you might be somewhat confused when you pick up the book Sunrise which is labeled as the first in a series of four books. However, with a little investigation, you will find that the Baxters are a favorite subject of Mrs. Kingsbury¬¬the subjects of numerous previous books, not to mention series of books. Ah¬ha! That is why I felt I was missing significant parts of the story while I read. That aside, the story is excellent and can stand alone . . . sort of . . . just makes me want to get my hands on the rest of the books . . . NOW! It reads almost like a culmination of some parts of the Baxter story and the beginning of new threads of other parts, which it is¬¬more Baxter books follow this one. Please don't let this dissuade you from reading the book. \"The story line is topnotch¬¬ you merely are sticking your toe in the waters of Baxter, and you will not want to resist getting \"wet\" all over with their full story. My suggestion is to dive right in! Themes include honoring God and each other by saving sexual relations until marriage, teenage alcohol use and abuse, honoring God by not giving your heart away casually, life after death of a spouse, forgiveness.
Sexual: Not sure that I would allow my teenage daughter to read this book. There is more description of sexual feelings than I would want a teen reading, however, the description is honoring of God
Drug & Alcohol: Alcohol abuse by teens is one of the themes of the book. Fairly graphic depiction of the havoc it can reek
