“Submerged is romantic suspense that will keep you up at night!”–Bestselling Author Dee Henderson
A sabotaged plane. Two dead deep-water divers.
Yancey, Alaska was a quiet town…until the truth of what was hidden in the depths off the coast began to appear.
Bailey Craig vowed never to set foot in Yancey again. She has a past, and a reputation–and Yancey’s a small town. She’s returned to bury a loved one killed in the plane crash and is determined not to stay even an hour more than necessary. But then dark evidence emerges and Bailey’s own expertise becomes invaluable for the case.
Cole McKenna can handle the deep-sea dives and helping the police recover evidence. He can even handle the fact that a murderer has settled in his town and doesn’t appear to be moving on. But dealing with the reality of Bailey’s reappearance is a tougher challenge. She broke his heart, but she is not the same girl who left Yancey. He let her down, but he’s not the same guy she left behind. Can they move beyond the hurts of their pasts and find a future together?

Summary
Overall Submerged by Dani Pettrey is an amazing thriller and the first book of three in the Alaskan Courage series. I love how she used RussianAlaskan history to pull her readers into the story and get them hooked. Her characters are relatable with their deep hurts and thoughts. Bailey with her mistakes from her past tries throwing up walls to keep old acquaintances out when she has to return to her hometown. Cole, her old flame, treats her with respect and gives grace where others may notand he just happens to be a heart throb! The plot line kept me in suspense from beginning until the end, and I especially like how Ms. Pettrey immerses her readers in the mystery from the very beginning of the book. Ms. Pettrey writes with a strong biblical worldview without coming across as preachy. Themes include the importance of family, having a strong faith, and not living in the past. If you like stories of reconciliation and redemption with a lot of mystery and a little romance thrown in, then you will love this book.
Violence Murder is part of the storyline. The murder itself is not described, but the results are described without being explicit.
Language Past mistakes give Bailey a bad name.
Sexual
Drug & Alcohol Description of drinking is primarily in regard to previous life choices.
