Summary
Simple Truths: Living a Life of Deep Meaning, Purpose and Peace by Norma Jean Parr. Norma shares personal stories, scriptures and biblical quotes to reveal truths for living a life with greater purpose.
Some of my favorite sections were - “Let us not grow weary of doing good”. Galatians 6. This is a good reminder. Sometimes we feel that we are doing good and it is not making an impact.
Another good point was the one about forgiveness. Most discussions about forgiveness are about forgiving others which she does address and even gives a practice prayer to help you. In addition, Norma challenges and encourages us to also forgive ourselves.
Norma shares the power of prayer. She breaks down and explains the Lord’s Prayer. One of the final chapters is a section on comforting prayers.
Norma’s desire is to encourage others to look deeper into their own personal journey.
This book addresses several situations you may experience in life. I feel the book could be read as a devotional. I also see me referring back to different sections based on what I am going through. I recommend the book.
