Anger. Hatred. Bitterness. Resentment. Yes, even suicide was a part of Lori’s life journey. There was inner turmoil that had been fed for so long that only the Lord could bring her through. Jesus revealed Himself to Lori and showed her how to be free from the lies of Satan.
Shackles started out as her personal testimony, but then God began to show her how He has equipped each person to live life in complete freedom. Shackles is written to encourage you to walk in your divine calling as you hear the voice of God and move forward into your promised future.
Lori’s desire is to see you saved and set free by helping you:
– Uncover the hidden things in your life allowing the Lord to help bring down your Goliaths.
– Discover your new identity and learn how to walk in it.
– Learn how to rest in the Lord which will allow you to experience HIS peace.

Summary
In Shackles, Lori shares keys to break open your shackles and walk in complete freedom.
The book starts with Lori sharing her personal testimony. I found this enlightening and wonder how many young people have had similar experiences and were afraid to tell their parents. I would highly encourage parents to read the book and see if they notice these signs in their children or in their children’s friends.
I was fascinated by the correlations she shares between her study of the 12 Tribes of Israel, the 12 step program and her journal. In chapter five, she also shares practical steps to know God more intimately. One of her recommendations is to not give up in 30 seconds. This is not a happy meal drive thru activity. I feel many of us give up to quickly if we don’t hear from God. This really hit home for me.
The author includes some prayers that you can use if you don’t know what to pray when you don’t have the words. I found them to be very helpful.
On a personal note, I read one of the sections and it was one of those movements when you knew it was written exactly for you. I hope when you read the book you are as impacted as I was.
I received this book from author/publisher. I was not required to write a positive review.
