This historical mail order bride book is brought to you by Squeaky Clean Western Romance, an imprint of Silky Oak Press. It is NOT Christian Fiction. It includes an adult scene, which is in service of the story, and is necessary to show one of the dangers faced by women in those times.
If you would find such a scene offensive, please start this series with Book 2, Emily instead. You’ll still find plenty of True Love, True Adventure, engagements, weddings and cowboys!

Summary
Overall I was extremely disappointed in this book. It started out with promise, but quickly went down hill. It's a mailorder brides book. The premise for Ruby agreeing to being a mail order bride was good. However, when Ruby meets her toogoodtobetrue groom, he quickly shows himself to be exactly that. The graphic depiction of the abnormal sex act on the \"wedding night\" was unnecessary and added nothing to the story. Nothing. You would think it would come back to play at some point in the story, but no. And then there are the totally backward, hick brothers that are thrown into the story. The plot is very poorly constructed. The characters are very onedimensional and
annoying. The story ends and I was thinking,\"That's it?!\" What?! I believe there is an entire series of these novels, but I have no interest in reading the others, if this one is any indication of what one can expect. Don't waste your time.
Violence Normal carousing and fighting of the Wild West.
Language
Sexual The graphic depiction of the odd sex scene was off putting and totally added nothing to the storyline.
Drug & Alcohol Use of alcohol runs throughout the novel.
Part of the setting
involves a saloon.
