Three sisters are sent away by their mother, into the unknown of the West, to become mail order brides to strangers.
Purity, the middle sister, marries the town sheriff, Ezekiel Summers. Seemingly created for each other, the two settle into a peaceful, happy life surrounded by family and friends.
Their happiness is short-lived, however, as danger lurks on the horizon. The past comes back to haunt them, threatening not only their harmonious marriage, but their very lives.

Summary
Purity's life with her husband is happy and full of love. However, there are shadows from her husband's family that still exist. Can she learn to forgive?
So far, Purity is the most sympathetic of the sisters. She's loved her husband from the start, and she has an intense interest in the Summer family history. Still, when she learns about something from Zeke's past, she explodes with anger and maintains that he betrayed her. To be honest, I was wholly on Zeke's side of that confrontation, since his explanation was reasonable and Purity's fury was extreme...much like her sister's was in the previous book.
There is a sub-plot involving another woman in town, who has been in love with Zeke for years. This was uninteresting, and I found I didn't care if she realized the town deputy was interested in her.
The weakest point of the story is just how many times a character makes an emotional decision when the focus is off them. I think the story could have been better told if the reader was allowed to see how the character came to their conclusion, instead of the character saying "I decided this because..."
Those who have enjoyed the previous stories will undoubtedly devour this one as well.
