A collection of poems, most of which relate to the author’s personal faith. New Testament characters are presented here and shown in moments of human weakness and imperfection. Some verses recount important events in their lives and others dwell simply on God’s love for his creation. One or two familiar saints and sinners make an appearance along the way. Within the collection the main themes are the shortcomings of some of the better known figures associated with the life of Jesus, the power and love of God made visible, both in the natural world and in works of art which have been inspired by religious faith. Miraculous events, the suffering of Christ and the topics of life and death are considered also.

Summary
What do you like about this book:
This author’s poetry has a way of surrounding the reader with imagery and emotion. It pulls you in and slides into your soul. Each piece reflects a different piece of a faith journey, exposing both the struggle of the flesh and the beauty of God’s grace. One of my favorites was Morning Benediction: “As the path goes forth in Autumns silence, the angry roar of man’s confusion is voiceless here.” The Sower also resonated with me: “Still with his labor done, at sunset and at ease, he dreams of harvest and golden sheaves that billow in the breeze.”
These are not poems you can read and put away, they stick with you and stir your spirit. Much like a devotional, you will want to savor them. Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful. Do yourself a favor and curl up in bed with this book of poetry and spend some time in repose with God.
These poems contain no sex, violence, objectionable language or references to drugs/alcohol.
