Summary
Overall No Way Out is a romantic suspense and part of the Justice Agency series. The story read well as a standalone but you are so drawn into the characters that you cannot help but get the other books. This is exactly what I am now doing. In No Way Out, Alyssa overhears a conversation that puts herself and her children in danger. Cole is a member of the Justice family and is working in their Private Investigations business. He has returned from two tours in Iraq and is dealing with survivor’s guilt. Alyssa and Cole are believable characters and you cheer for their relationship. Cole’s sister Dani and brother Derrick also have enough of a role in the book that you cannot help but read their stories. My favorite line in the book was ”So is your whole family in town looking at houses? Cole lifted a shoulder. Not all of them, but I have the feeling the rest of them will be here before nightfall.” The author created authentic family relationships and interactions. Excited to find a new author in Susan.
Violence Killings past and present, kidnapping, threats, Nothing I found disturbing.

Drug & Alcohol The story line is a drug dealer, but there is not use of drugs in the story.
