The 12th book in Verne’s Extraordinary Voyages Series. 5 prisoners of war escape a Confederate prisoner of war camp , hijack a balloon and are blown out to sea by a terrible storm. When they finally reach land they land on the Mysterious Island where inexplicable things continue to happen…how did these things happen? A lot of adaptations, in book and film and even video game come from this book. A faster paced adventurous and fun story. As a young reader I loved it!
