Summary
Met Her Match by Jude Deveraux is a lovely read. Jude creates characters that truly fall in love from spending time together and getting to know each other and not jumping into bed the first night they meet. I enjoyed the building of the relationship and the situations they would find themselves in.
Terri is a very likeable character. She is tough and a hard worker but also feminine. She is loved by the lake people where she takes care of everything. However the ‘town’ people prefer the gossip about her.
Anyone who has lived in a small town can relate to the stigma and gossip of a small town.
Nate is delicious. He is part of the Montgomery clan. He worked with Kit and is extremely talented. It was fun watching him work with the lake people and learn about them and help them use their strengths. I forgot to mention that he is engaged to the Mayor’s daughter, the most popular girl in school back in the day.
Jude throws in some mysteries to enhance the story. Why did Terri’s mother disappear? Why did Terri’s boyfriend leave town? What is the deal with the florist?
How could you not love the fact it includes some of the Montgomery clan. Kit doesn’t make an appearance but is mentioned often.
I highly recommend the book. The story was engaging. The chemistry between the characters was lovely. And she threw in a little bit of mystery.
Sexual content – there is a physical scene, that is well written not just two people jumping into bed together.
Violence – what happened to Terri’s mom
