Cassia has always trusted the Society to make the right choices for her: what to read, what to watch, what to believe. So when Xander’s face appears on-screen at her Matching ceremony, Cassia knows he is her ideal mate . . . until she sees Ky Markham’s face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black. The Society tells her it’s a glitch, a rare malfunction, and that she should focus on the happy life she’s destined to lead with Xander. But Cassia can’t stop thinking about Ky, and as they slowly fall in love, Cassia begins to doubt the Society’s infallibility and is faced with an impossible choice: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she’s known and a path that no one else has dared to follow.

Summary
Overall, this book was good, but I didn't think the plot was anything new or different. It seemed to me more of a combination of several popular teen novels. The dystopian societal rebellion was remeniscent of the Hunger Games, the pacing and scenes in the romance plotline reminded me eerily of Twilight, and the subplot of Cassia's dreams of "people with wings" was like something out of a Maximum Ride novel. However, the writing was lyrical and Cassia's narrative was deep and powerful. Lastly, I think the main point of the book-the love triangle- was not suspenseful enough-it's obvious from the start which boy she's going to end up with.
Sexual-The romantic tension in the book is the focus, not the actual romance itself, so there's not even that much kissing.
Drug & Alcohol-The people of the Society in the book take drugs to alter their physical needs; the pills they take to calm themselves reminded me slightly of the drugs used today, but the main charachter is told many times she's "strong enough to go without them" and is against the use of any pills, which are also used as bargaining chips between the charachters and cause more problems than they help. overall, the use of drugs is not encouraged but instead is displayed as a weakness.
