Readers often think of Job sitting on the ash heap, his life in shambles. But how did he get there? What was Job’s life like before tragedy struck? What did he think as his world came crashing down around him? And what was life like after God restored his wealth, health, and family?
Through painstaking research and a writer’s creative mind, Mesu Andrews weaves an emotional and stirring account of this well-known story told through the eyes of the women who loved him. Drawing together the account of Job with those of Esau’s tribe and Jacob’s daughter Dinah, Love Amid the Ashes breathes life, romance, and passion into the classic biblical story of suffering and steadfast faith.

Summary
Overall Love Amid the Ashes is a novel of biblical fiction about the story of the suffering servant Job. I thoroughly enjoyed the read because the author, Mesu Andrews,
apparently thoroughly loves research. Not only has she thoroughly read the her Bible and the story of Job, but she shares that she had read numerous other extrabiblical
texts that reference Job; though these sources aren't part of the biblical canon, they are highly regarded for their additional information about biblical times and
characters. Ms. Andrews, taking the biblical account along with the extra sources, created an amazing novel. Most amazing is her idea that Job lived during the biblical times of Jacob and Esau and their offspring. Truly the story was riveting and made me look at Job and Dinah, Jacob's daughter, in a fresh new way. I highly recommend this quality novel.
