What if praying became a curse instead of a blessing?
Former Army Ranger Jagger Baird thought he had his hands full with the Tribe—the band of immortal vigilantes fighting to regain God’s grace by killing those opposed to Him. But that was before he encountered the ruthless group of immortals called the Clan. The Clan is after a prize that would give them unimaginable power—a piece of the Ten Commandments known as the Judgment Stone.
Those who touch the Stone can see into the spiritual world: angelic warriors, treacherous demons, and the blue threads of light that signal the presence of believers in communion with God.
By following the blue beam radiating from those closest to God, the Clan plans to locate His most passionate followers and destroy them.
Jagger quickly realizes his high-tech gadgetry and training are no match for these merciless immortals. But how can he defeat an enemy who hunts believers through their prayers . . . and won’t stop until they’ve annihilated all those close to Him?
In this high-action thriller, best-selling author Robert Liparulo examines the raging battle between good and evil on earth . . . and beyond.

Book Title: The Judgement Stone
Book Author: Robert Liparulo
What do you like about this book:
Summery::
When you see a book with the name "Robert Liparulo" on the front cover, one can deduce two things: one, it will contain lengthy, often unnecessary composition; and two, it will contain blood by the barrels. The Judgement Stone is one of the more mild books when it comes to violence--but what it lacks in the latter, it more than makes up for in the former. Filled with expendable scenes and countless, meaningless actions sequences, this novel proves nothing more than the everyday sequel to a good story, released in hopes to make another dime. Everything about it is overdone and wildly uninteresting. There does, after all, come a point when even action becomes boring. This seems to be a consistent disillusion for Mr. Liparulo, to confuse suspense with action. Only a few, half-heartedly sweet moments are there for the purpose of sparing this horrid novel, but, in the end, even they are incapable of doing so. And I doubt that anything could. Where Liparulo was once a favorite, he has subtly declined to a substance-less novelist who loves to write action, but not story.
Sexual Content::
Bale picks up a girl at a bar and makes out with her--it is one-sided, but still unsettling. The scene cuts away with him pulling her, and a few other unfortunate women into a room, obviously for sex. A teacher is said to sexually abuse children, take pictures, and distribute them to porn organizations. Another reference is made to pedophile. The Clan is renown for their crimes of murder, kidnapping, and rape. A woman's outfit reveals some cleavage. Nevaeh tends to draw the attention of flirtatious men, but none do. An organization is said to pimp prostitutes. Some kissing and mild loving touch.
Violent Content::
Several large scale firefights and explosions. Dead bodies and gunshot wounds bleed abundantly. Hand-to-hand combat can also get quite graphic. Someone is burned to death. As before, immortals can only be killed by decapitation--but unlike the first one, we don't read of any decapitations. A member of the Clan intentionally cuts his forearms on several occasions. Some of the creatures can get a little gross-looking. There are battles between these demons and angels, all bloodless. The Tribe's and the Clan's goal is to kill all those who sin, and so they do in many violent ways. The immortal's origin story revolves around the stoning of an old man and the religious sacrifice of an infant. This is discussed, but never described unlike the first one. There are references to cannibalism. When children come to him with multiple bruises, Owen knows they are victims of abuse.
Language::
An unfinished "son of a--".
Drug/Alcohol Content::
References to drug dealers. Some of the Clan members drink wine and get drunk.
Recommendation:: 1.5/5
PG-13 - Sequences of intense sci-fi action violence, disturbing descriptions, and mature thematic material including some sexual content
