Book Title: House of Lies
Book Author: LE Hall
What do you like about this book:
Katherine thinks of her mother as “particular” but she is far beyond that description. She has very strict standards for almost everything. So, when her parents announce their plans for a summer vacation on a cruise ship, Katherine is more than a little surprised. Then, Katherine goes missing and her parents don’t even report it. The reader will find that action is just the tip of the iceberg as their House of Lies begins to crumble.
House of Lies is an intriguing adult suspense novel. Even though the content seems a little too unbelievable in places, I found myself totally immersed in the book. I also enjoyed the humor in the book. Unlike some of the language, the humor is not crude and was very enjoyable.
My only hang up with the novel was the foul language. It was not over abundant, but it was too often for my comfort zone and vulgar in a few places. There is also talk of sexual activity. With the heroine being a teenager, this book would appeal to that audience, but because of the adult content and language I would not personally recommend it for that age group. There is also quite a bit of violence in the book, but I didn’t find it overly graphic. I would recommend this book to the adult reader who enjoys reading suspense and who is not adverse to foul language, adult content or violence.
