THE #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER
On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy’s diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media—as well as Amy’s fiercely doting parents—the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he’s definitely bitter—but is he really a killer?

Summary
Overall Gone Girl is a book with plot twists that makes you want to keep reading to find out how the author will conclude the story line. I liked how the book was written and each chapter revealed more to the story. If you get about a third way into the book and aren't sure you want to keep going...keep reading! About half way through the book, I didn't want to put it down.
Sexual In one part of the book a sexual act is described that may be unsettling to the reader. Other sex is described but not with detailed intensity.
Drug & Alcohol Parts of the book take place in a bar. Other drinking occurs.
