Summary
Overall The Firefighter’s Match is a contemporary Christian romance. I was drawn to this book from the beginning when Bing and Rosemary aka Alex and JJ meet on the dock.
Alex is running from his high pressure Adventure business and his strained relationship with his brother. JJ is home from the war and dealing with issues and trying to start a new life. She is an easy character to like. She is strong but not stubborn and stupid, and has her demons to fight and overcome. She is managing her brothers business as he is away on another adventure. Alex and JJ start building a friendship / relationship when they are tested with an accident. This requires them to learn the truth about each other and themselves. JJ also starts working for the fire department. The author does a great job of weaving this into the story and presenting how a ‘probie’ is treated. These scenes added humor and further developed the relationship between Alex and JJ. Melba’s friendship was a lifeline for JJ. I wanted one of
their prayer shawls. The epilogue was a perfect ending for the situation. The author includes some discussion questions in the back which would be great for a book club
discussion.
Violence Not really violence, just an accident.
Language
Sexual Kissing. Great tension and feeling between the characters.
