Summary
When Kate fell in love with Jason and promised to marry him at the tender age of 16, she never thought he would be famous. Now that his band had made it big, she begins to
wonder if marrying him is such a good idea. Yes, she loves him, butshe is also insecure. What if he found someone better? Would he regret being bound to her? She had seen
the tabloids and had watched videos of his performance and she was uncomfortable with the way he behaved on stage. They were both Christians and she felt he wasn’t behaving as such when he was away from her. Then she makes a poor decision that turns everything upside down. She leaves town and makes her family promise they will not tell Jason where she is. He is heartbroken. He begins to drink and make a mess of his life. Then their paths cross. Can they overcome the past and trust each other enough to act on the love they have had for each other for so long? I felt this book was a bit too juvenile at first, but I am glad I stuck with it because it was a good book. The setting of the book is Oklahoma and Texas. Having grown up in Oklahoma and now living in Texas, I was a little annoyed by the author’s use of ya’ll. I don’t have a problem with the word and sometimes use it myself. However, the author used it as a substitute for singular you in many places and it just didn’t fit. I have always seen and heard it used to indicate you all (multiple you). There is a sex scene in the book, but it is not obscene. There is also a lot of partying and drinking that are
portrayed and with that some suggestive language. There are also a few curse words in the book. I would recommend this book to young adults who like to read about young
romance that goes wrong.
Sexual One sex scene that is not obscene and lots of suggestive language.
Drug & Alcohol One of the main characters has an episode of heavy drinking. Lots of parties depicted in book.
