Summary
The book was just what the title says – amusing. It’s a light, chick-lit romance that entertains without causing you to think too much. The main character, Lola, is a single woman living in a house she inherited from her great-aunt. To her dismay, the neighbors keep disrupting her loner lifestyle. They are just being neighborly, but Lola isn’t used to sharing life with anyone and sees them as an intrusion. Lola hits more road blocks when, at the same time, her best male-friend moves in and she meets the handsome, but weirdly perfect, stranger next door. Like most chick-lit, the ending is predictable, yet fun. It’s not meant to bring all of life’s unanswered questions to mind. However, I did enjoy McQuestion’s emphasis on being neighborly.
