Summary
Devoted Defender by Rachel Dylan is book 2 in the Danger in the Deep South series. It can be read as a stand-alone even though Hope and Caleb make an appearance. So fans of Lethal Action will be thrilled. I have been hoping that Gabe would get his own book and I was not disappointed.
Devoted Defender was such a refreshing read. Finally, a female that doesn’t make stupid decisions to prove how stubborn and strong she is. She knew her skill set and didn’t make ridiculous proclamations about; I can handle myself against a major organized crime boss, like you see in some books.
I thought the book was very well thought out. At one point I was really impressed with Gabe’s reasoning. I wouldn’t have thought to question the bad guy about who all knew about her and that the answer would determine how he protected her.
I am a fan of Rachel’s books and she continues to satisfy. I enjoyed the addition of the dogs in the book too.
