These classic historical romance novels are getting a new look for the next generation of readers. But the wonderful stories remain the same, as touching and fresh as they were when first published.

Summary
Overall Daughter of Joy is the first novel In the Brides of Culdee Creek series by Kathleen Morgan. Abigail Stanton is widow who has also has recently lost her five year old son to diphtheria. She's looking to find a place to bury her sorrowing heart in work, and she thinks she's found it by working as a housekeeper and cook to Conor MacKay, known about the area as a most impossible man. And impossible he is, as well as his nine year old halfbreed daughter. From the getgo Ella, the only other woman on the Culdee Creek ranch, sees Abby as a godsend, \"Just what Conor MacKay needs!\" It's not as if we, the readers are cluelessof course, they're going to end up together that's the way these novels work! As impossible as Conor is, he comes around and, after a few missteps, becomes quite the marriageable man. Their story is formula driven, but with enough of their own unique story to keep it interesting. Themes include forgiveness, letting go of fears, grace, persistence, and returning kindness in the face of insult. It was a pleasure to read the first story enough that I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.
