Summary
When Esther Hathaway commissions Jeremy Snyder to paint a miniature of her niece for a traditional bridal gift, she has no idea what to expect. Certainly not the kind, compassionate, talented ex¬patriot with a permanent disability. She cannot help but be drawn to the man and finds herself inviting him to use the front room of her bakery/cafe as his temporary studio; enjoying the time that they spend together almost every day. Jeremy Snyder has been drifting from town to town in an attempt to establish himself as a painter. When he arrives in 1 885 Cheyenne, Wyoming, he places a small advertisement in the local paper and finds a simple place to live; hoping that he might possibly spend some extended time in one place. When he meets the lovely owner of a local bakery, he is amazed at her ability to run a profitable business while raising her niece. But why has this attractive woman never married and had a family of her own? Esther and Jeremy test the waters of a more lasting relationship, but will it end when Jeremy completes his assignment and moves on to the next town? Can Esther's heart afford to hope? Or will her niece's Christmas star ornament be the beginning of her own \"happily ever after\"? What a lovely addition to \"The 1 2 Brides of Christmas\"!
