Summary
Reviewer Name : Mari Barnes Ms. Isenhoff took a very difficult subject and a very difficult character and made them both accessible. There’s some lovely language in the book and a chance for young readers to improve their vocabularies. Ms. Isenhoff gives the people on both sides of the slavery issue an even¬handed treatment —very few outright monsters here—and Emily has adventures galore! I highly recommend the book for grades 4 and up.
