Summary
Overall Betting the Rainbow is a compelling novel in the Harmony series by Jodi Thomas. Jodi weaves three stories together in a remarkable tale of love. Ronny has returned from a year of traveling after the death of her boyfriend (you may have caught this story in Can’t Stop Believing). Ronny rents a cabin in the woods
that happens to have a neighbor that is as lonely as she is. Her neighbor is Austin Hawk who is recovering from a fire in the military. The chemistry between
them is explosive (no pun intended). The relationship is real and the rapport is believable. Across the water is Dusti and her sister Abby. Dusti is trying to win a poker
contest so she can send her sister back to college. She asks Kieran to help her learn to play and play to win. She develops feelings for him and is aching for him to just kiss her. He is focused on teaching her and will tell her when its time for the kiss and the date. I don’t want to ruin any surprises but they were so cute together.
Reagan and Noah round out our third couple in the series. They were heartbreaking. Noah is a bull rider and Rea has been the girl he comes home to. He has become distant and she can tell something is just not right. However she is not quite prepared for all the things that are about to be revealed or the lies. Betting the Rainbow is a
wonderful read. It is one of those books that you can keep going back to. You will fall in love with the characters and the town. I am not sure what it is about Jodi's
writing, but the book is a page turner and is over before you want it to be. You feel like you know the town and the people in the town.
