We’re often told that life is a journey, one with many forks in the road. But no matter what path we choose, somewhere along the way every road becomes broken. The smooth pavement eventually gives way to a twisted path of bad decisions and broken plans-easy street becomes a boulevard of broken dreams. Out of the immense moral darkness of the Judges period comes a story of romance, redemption, and hope. The tale of Ruth has inspired countless generations. But Ruth isn’t the star in this romantic drama; center stage belongs to God and his providence. Naomi and Ruth traveled the Bethlehem Road-one of famine, abandonment, grief, and loss-unaware that the Lord had gone before them to redeem their heartache. If you’ve been living with a broken heart-if bitterness and disappointment have been your travel companions on life’s road, then Ruth’s story will inspire and strengthen you for the journey ahead. More than that, it will bring you to your knees in worship of your Redeemer and King. Bethlehem Road is written in an engaging, easy-to-read style. As a guide to Ruth, it discusses key terms and ideas and explains cultural/historical details. Every Start2Finish Book is based on the English Standard Version (ESV) and is characterized by a balanced, reverent view of God’s Word. Bethlehem Road will guide you through the story of Ruth and help you discover strength for life’s broken roads.

Summary
Overall Are you looking for a quality Bible study? Then this is the book for you! I love Michael Whitworth's Bethlehem Road, a study of the book of Ruth. The Bethlehem Road? It is a path of travail, trial, disappointment, disillusionment, bitterness. Hey, we've all been there, and I can almost promise you that there is something in this book that will minister to your heart. I think it is easier to grasp how to apply God's Word when others share how they have applied God's Word in their own situations. Mr. Whitworth does this by sharing his own journey along the Bethlehem Road when his father died very unexpectedly during his college years. Using close to thirty different sources, Mr. Whitworth shares the innumerable riches from the pages of Ruth. Ruth is one of my very favorite Bible stories! I love Ruth! I thought I knew pretty much all there was to know about Ruth, however, as typical of God's Word, there is always more to mine! I love studying God's Word and being shown new insights about Him! his short 107 page book will leave you full of awe about our good God, who may seem to be absent in our distress, but truly is always there, always working for our good and His glory! I especially like that the author points out to us that this story took place during the time of the Judges of Israela time when everyone did what was right in their own eyes. Yet three people (Boaz, Ruth, and Naomi) did what was right in God's eyes, and it made all the difference in the world! The story of how God directed Ruth's story is one that will inspire you and strengthen you as you travel the Bethlehem Road.
