#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER
“The indomitable Reacher burns up the pages.”—USA Today
Four people in a car, hoping to make Chicago by morning. One man driving, another telling stories that don’t add up. A woman in the back, silent and worried. And a hitchhiker with a broken nose. An hour behind them, the FBI descends on an old pumping station where a man was stabbed to death—the knife work professional, the killers nowhere to be seen.
All Jack Reacher wanted was a ride to Virginia. All he did was stick out his thumb. But he soon discovers he has hitched more than a ride. He has tied himself to a massive conspiracy, in which nothing is what it seems, and nobody is telling the truth.
“Furious action . . . [Lee] Child keeps the pacing swift and the surprises rolling. . . . [A] feverishly thrilling series.”—The Miami Herald
“Smart, breathless . . . [with] one of the best female characters in the whole Reacher series.”—The New York Times
“Subtle and nuanced [with] seductive writing and irresistible plot twists.”—Newsweek

Book Title: A Wanted Man
Book Author: Lee Child
What do you like about this book:
Summery::
After you read your second Reacher novel, each one following comes with an odd sense of deja vu. They're all relatively the same--but, at the same time, all so completely different. Yes, basic outline: hitchhiker wants a ride, runs into trouble, goes on the run with some beautiful woman, beats the heck out of dozens of unfortunates, then is on his way. This, no matter how big a fan you are of Jack Reacher--such as yours truly--is a difficult thing to deny. But somehow, Child still makes it interesting with fast-paced action and a suspenseful mystery. However, this particular mystery is chocked to the brim in grim violence and profanity (as most Reacher novels are). Sensitive readers: discretion strongly advised.
Sexual Content::
At a lounge, the waitresses are said several times to wear very low-cut--"more-or-less topless"--garments and thongs. One of their outfits is described in unnecessary detail the way it fits against her body. Reacher disarms a woman, the thinks about her body, adding unnecessary sexual tension, along with him seeing her in only a towel--not intensely described. Truck drivers taunt Julia, and their sexual intentions are obvious, but nothing happens and nothing is said. This occurs again with someone else: she is told to take her shirt off, but is interrupted before anything happens. Mentions of pedophile, strippers, prostitution, affairs, and couples living together out of wedlock.
Violent Content::
At a crime scene, there's quite a bit of blood; the victim's wounds are described in vivid detail. Another scene features a charred body, also described vividly and unsettlingly. This, along with many other occasions of violence, riddle the book from beginning to end, including detailed a very detailed visualization of a headshot wound. A man is said to nearly be cut in half by a car--thankfully, we are left in the dark about most of the details. Multiple fistfights and gun combat and a car chase. In this Reacher novel, the body count is pretty high. Reacher does have a broken nose throughout the course of the book.
Language::
24 s-words, accompanied by 12 of "a--", 18 of "h-ll", 9 of "d--n", and two uses of "p-ss." A couple of rude comments, including two uses of the word "p--sy." Jesus' name is held in vain twice, and God's name four times.
Drug/Alcohol Content::
Some drinking and talk of bars.
Recommendation:: 2/5
PG-13 - Intense violence and action, disturbing descriptions, thematic elements and some suggestive content
