A stranger invades her home, leaving Rebecca Jarvis terrified. Above all, she must protect the baby growing inside her. Since her estranged husband died suspiciously six months earlier, Rebecca has been determined to depend on no one but herself.
Her chivalrous new neighbor appears to be an answer to prayer. But who is Levi Stoneman really? Rebecca wants to believe he can help her, but she can’t ignore her instincts.
As danger closes in, both Rebecca and Levi must figure out whom they can trust. With Rebecca’s baby coming soon, there’s no time to waste. Can the truth prevail . . . or will remorse overpower the best of intentions?

Book Author: Christy Barritt
What do you like about this book:
"She should have gotten out when she had the chance."
When Levi Stoneman hears a scream from next door, he immediately fears the worst; finding a very pregnant woman on the floor, he prioritizes her needs before contemplating his next move. This was not how he expected to meet Rebecca Jarvis.
Someone is clearly out to do her and her unborn daughter harm; but why? Rebecca Jarvis can't begin to figure it out. Not to mention her handsome new neighbor, who always seems to be at the right place at the right time, she can't quite figure him out either. But who has time for romantic musings; she's about to become a single mother with a fluctuating means of supporting herself as a real estate agent on a small island.
Enjoy revisiting Rebecca Jarvis on Lantern Beach; she's clearly made some poor choices, but she's also brave enough to fight for a second chance. Maybe her new neighbor's appearance on the island is providential, rather than problematic.
