From the New York Times bestselling author of If I Stay
Allyson Healey’s life is exactly like her suitcase—packed, planned, ordered. Then on the last day of her three-week post-graduation European tour, she meets Willem. A free-spirited, roving actor, Willem is everything she’s not, and when he invites her to abandon her plans and come to Paris with him, Allyson says yes. This uncharacteristic decision leads to a day of risk and romance, liberation and intimacy: 24 hours that will transform Allyson’s life.
A book about love, heartbreak, travel, identity, and the “accidents” of fate, Just One Day shows us how sometimes in order to get found, you first have to get lost. . . and how often the people we are seeking are much closer than we know.
The first in a sweepingly romantic duet of novels. Willem’s story—Just One Year—is coming soon!

Summary
Woah. I don't even know where to start. Just One Day has to be one of the best books I've read all summer- but what else did I expect from Gayle Forman? As I told the author at RT last spring, reading one of her books is like having your heart ripped out and flung at the wall, then gently put back into place, only to be punched in the gut. But it's a beautiful experience. Just One Day starts off rather slowly, which interestingly matches the narrator's personality at the beginning. This isn't a fast-paced book- like all Gayle Forman books, the conflict happens almost entirely in the narrator's head. It was so interesting to witness the charachter change in this story- it was so dramatic that it left Allyson\\Lulu, the narrator, completely unrecognizeable by the end. And the end- THE PAIN. You CANNOT end a book like that! Which is maybe possibly what made me dock a star. But COMPLETELY UNCALLED FOR ending aside, I would recommend Just One Day to... Everyone? Maybe?
Violence-There was one scene where they were chased by thugs down an alley but they got away with a couple of cuts
Language-The F-bomb I think was dropped once? There were also some excellent French swearwords
Sexual-There was a sex scene but it wasn't very graphic and it was over pretty fast
Drug & Alcohol-The book takes place partly in Paris, and they have a little too much wine.
