After reading Maggie, I had to meet Violet.  So, I was overjoyed when she agreed to an author interview at Lori Foster’s Reader and Author Get Together. You can read my review of Maggie’s story

Violet and DonnaViolet writes romantic suspense and women’s fiction and always includes some humor.  Violet shares finding her love at 35 and how that influenced her writing and the actions of the characters. Which might be why, she enjoys writing seasoned romances.

The biggest surprise Violet shared about being a writer is the romance writer community.  Not surprising, the romance writers are a strong and supportive community.  Although this may be true in the romance community it was not true in her previous career, as a wedding planner.

The goal of an event is not going to be book sales. With this in mind, Violet shares other ways of getting a return on your conference attendance as an author.

Violet surprised us all when she shared one of the jobs that she had as a single mom. you are going to crack up.

If you are new to Violet’s writing and you like romantic suspense, you could try The Ghost in the Curve  However, if you prefer romance with family dynamics, she recommends you start with Building Fences.

Violet shares the difficulty of balancing the storylines in a romantic suspense.

In closing, I would strongly recommend trying out her books.  Her writing captures your emotions and the characters come to life.

About Violet

Violet Howe enjoys writing romantic suspense and romantic women’s fiction, both with healthy doses of humor. She lives in Florida with her knight in shining armor and their two handsome sons. They share their home with three adorable but spoiled dogs. When she’s not writing, Violet is usually watching movies, reading, or planning her next travel adventure. You can follow Violet’s ramblings on her blog, The Goddess Howe.

Before dedicating myself to writing full-time, I spent fifteen years immersed in wedding planning and five years teaching in a middle-school classroom–both of which gave me countless stories and experiences to draw from for writing inspiration!

I am happily married to a man I consider My Knight in Shining Armor, and I am a mother to a teenage son whose intelligence, wit, and finesse with sarcasm amazes me daily. We share our home (and live in servitude for) our three insanely spoiled dogs.

I absolutely love to travel, and planning a trip is almost as much fun for me as actually going. I am a fanatic about all things movies–quotes, trailers, awards shows, midnight premieres, marathons, trivia, the smell of popcorn. If it’s movie-related, I’m in.

A drama queen. A hopeless romantic. Chronically late despite my best intentions. Moderately disorganized. I’m passionate and loyal. I love to laugh and I cry at pretty much anything remotely sappy. I love stories with happy endings, and believe we can change the world if we try.
