Excited to participate in the Midwinter’s Eve Blog hop hosted by Bookhounds with over 100 other bloggers and authors.  I chose to feature and giveaway an AUTOGRAPHED paperback copy of Once Upon a Prince by Rachel Hauck.  I met Rachel at RT Book Convention in Kansas City and then again at the International Christian Retail Show in St Louis.  It is so encouraging to meet the authors and they are as gracious as you expected.  If you have enjoyed following the Royal Family, I think you will enjoy escaping into Once Upon a Prince.

once upon a prince 2Book Description:Once Upon a Prince, the first novel in the Royal Wedding series by best-selling author Rachel Hauck, treats you to a modern-day fairy tale. Susanna Truitt never dreamed of a great romance or being treated like a princess—just to marry the man she has loved for twelve years. But life isn’t going according to plan. When her high-school-sweetheart-turned-Marine-officer breaks up instead of proposing, Susanna scrambles to rebuild her life. The last thing Prince Nathaniel expects to find on his American holiday to St. Simons Island is the queen of his heart. A prince has duties, and his family’s tense political situation has chosen his bride for him. When Prince Nathaniel comes to Susanna’s aid under the fabled Lover’s Oak, he is blindsided by love. Their lives are worlds apart. He’s a royal prince. She’s an ordinary girl. But everything changes when Susanna receives an invitation to Nathaniel’s coronation. It’s the ultimate choice: His kingdom or her heart? God’s will or their own? ‘This is classic romance at its very best.’ —DEBBIE MACOMBER

My comments: Once Upon a Prince is a sweet romance about finding your prince charming. This is a Christian book with Christian themes throughout. Susanna is an ordinary girl who’s boyfriend of 12 years breaks up with her in the opening scene. This is just the start of her life unraveling as she loses her job and the house she has been renting. Nate is a Prince on vacation before he is to become king, when he meets Susanna or should I say when he comes to her rescue for the first time. I found both characters to be enjoyable and some of the secondary characters were quite fun; like Aurora and Avery from the American side and Campbell and Colin from the Brighton side. Nate was dealing with lots of political issues in Brighton and they take a major role in the book in addition to the romance. If you like royalty meets ordinary girl or following the royal family and you like a good clean romance, I think you will truly enjoy Once Upon a Prince.
