We are excited to welcome Opal with some great recommendations on SWAG.   My favorites have been the soft screen cleaners, magnet and of course, book bags. We can never have too many of those 🙂     Feel free to share in the comments your favorite SWAG items from authors and the most usual SWAG you have received.

It’s fun. It’s one of the best forms of advertising. It’s SWAG! So you are FINALLY at a point where you are ready to hit the convention scene or head out to events and signings …..well you need some stuff to take that you can give away to readers and potential readers. Now comes the hard part. Trying to decide WHAT type of swag to get.

Here are some pretty awesome examples of swag that I have seen over the last few years that I absolutely fell in love with!

  1. Measuring spoons.
  2. Breath Mints in tins.
  3. Refillable hand sanitizer spray bottle.
  4. Screen Cleaner keyboard brush
  5. Soft screen cleaning cloths
  6. Pens (ALWAYS a go to)
  7. Magnets
  8. Buttons
  9. Match books
  10. Shot glasses
  11. Cups
  12. Note pads
  13. Chapstick
  14. Lotion
  15. Travel size soap
  16. Stress balls
  17. Beach Balls
  18. Frisbee
  19. Tote bags
  20. And of course…..bookmarks and postcards

The great thing about SWAG is there really is no wrong answer to “what should I get?” BUT when spending your hard earned money on promotion….ANY promotion….Try to make sure you are going to get the most bang for your buck. The best swag…..is the swag people will keep and use 🙂
