Counterattack by Patricia Bradley is part of the Pearl River series. It was a great action packed ‘who done it’. Alexis Stone is the interim sheriff for her grandfather and gets a serial killer case in her hometown. Her high school, sweetheart Nathan, is the chief of police. I was definitely a fan of Nathan’s. I thought the serial killer mystery was very well done. The book has a lot of chess references that I found fascinating. I enjoy the references even though I don’t play chess.
