My name is Angel Sinclair. I’m the youngest senior at Excalibur Academy for the Technologically Gifted and Talented in Washington, DC. I was pushed ahead a year because of my high IQ and considerable prowess behind the keyboard, making me an outcast even among my own peers.
I’ve been looking for my dad all my life. A brilliant mathematician and cryptographer, he disappeared under mysterious circumstances when I was 18 months old. Although my mom tells me I must put him in my past, it only makes me more determined to find out what happened to him. When weird accidents start happening at my school and the vice-principal is involved in a deadly accident, I don’t see it as a coincidence. After launching my own investigation, with the aid of an unexpected set of allies calling themselves the White Knights, I discover a threat far greater than I ever could have imagined.
I could take my discoveries to the authorities, but my own investigative methods would be at risk. Can anyone say hacking? No, it’s up to me to set things right. My objectives are straightforward. Clear the name of the vice-principal, learn the truth about my father, and stay alive. In other words, save the day and try not to look too much like a dork while doing it.

Summary
White Knights by Julie Moffett is a fun, smart and refreshing story. I suspect it targets young adult readers but as an older adult I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it. Angel is a great role model for young women.
The book starts with Angel’s first day of her senior year in high school. She goes to a special school for technologically gifted students. We meet Wally and Frankie who become the White Knights with Angel.
Frankie is a new girl at the school and the only extravert in their small group. Angel has two nemeses; Mary who bullies her and Nic who is competing with her to be the valedictorian.
The main storyline of this book is about an accident that happens to the school principal and how the students rally around him. Another underlying story theme is the disappearance of Angel’s father when she was just a baby. She has been researching is disappearance in her spare time.
Quirky characters and surprising plot twists create a very entertaining story that is as unusual as it is entertaining.
A clever fun read that leaves readers clamoring for more.
If you have read the Lexi Carmichael series you will love the White Knights series. I haven’t read the Lexi Carmichael series but plan to get them now.
