Alice runs a New Orleans flower shop alongside her aunt, but thoughts of her mother, who went missing during Hurricane Katrina, are never far from her mind. But things go very wrong when Clara agrees to aid the Northern cause by ferrying secret information about her father’s associates.
Faced with the unknown, both women will have to dig deep to let their courage bloom.

Summary
Reviewer: Donna Feyen
Where the Last Rose Blooms is in the Heirloom Secrets series by Ashley Clark. Ashley is a new voice in the southern Christian fiction genre. The books can be read as a standalone although if you read all of them you will pick up different pieces of information.
This is a dual timeframe story; present day New Orleans and Charleston in the 1800s. The author includes interesting historical details. Alice owns a flower shop. I always find the lead characters occupation to be interesting. Her mother went missing during Hurricane Katrina. The historical story is about Clara and her desire to help the Northern cause. The stories intertwine beautifully.
This is not a fluffy feel good story. You will be thinking about these characters after you finish the book.
Themes: depression, suicidal thoughts
