Sidelined by injuries from a vicious assault, chaplain Riley Hale is determined to return to her former duties as an ER nurse. But how can she show she’s competent when the hospital won’t let her attempt even simple tasks? Determined to prove herself, Riley volunteers at a controversial urban free clinic despite her fears about the maverick doctor in charge.
Dr. Jack Travis defends his clinic like he’s commander of the Alamo. He’ll fight the community’s efforts to shut its doors, even if he must use Riley Hale’s influential family name to make it happen.
As Riley strives to regain her skills, Jack finds that she shares his compassion—and stirs his lonely heart. Riley senses that beneath Jack’s rough exterior is a man she can believe in. But when clinic protests escalate and questions surface about his past, Jack goes into battle mode and Riley wonders if it’s dangerous to trust him with her heart.

Summary
Overall I am typically not a fan of medical fiction. However after I found Candace Calvert and read the Mercy Hospital series I am hooked. Trauma Plan is the first book in the new series, Grace Medical. The books are the perfect blend of action and romance. The author has a gift of revealing new details and mysteries throughout
the book to keep you turning the pages. Jack was one of those characters that I loved from the opening scene. Riley was likable and you could not help but sympathize with her desire to be back in the ER. The secondary characters were a great addition to the story; Broddy, Hobo (the dog) and Vesta. As in her previous books, Candace adds just enough mystery to a secondary character (in this case, Kate) that you cannot wait to pick up the next book to read their story. The author was an ER nurse which
adds to the richness of the ER details and realistic drama. I highly recommend Trauma Plan to anyone who likes a clean romance and plenty of action.
Violence ER drama some of which originated from violence. There is also discussions of past violence in both Jack and Riley's pasts. Nothing I found disturbing
Language
Sexual Just kissing and hugging. No physical scenes. Clean romance.
Drug & Alcohol I think there may have been some drinking of wine.
