Summary
Overall Ties that Bind is captivating from the opening chapter. It is my first book by CJ and will not be my last. You cannot put the book down. In the first sentence you begin to understand the loneliness of Brynn and it endears you to her even when she makes bad decisions. Brynn is looking for her father but ends up finding her two unknown sisters; May and Christy. May owns the ranch with Ruth. Christy owns a book store. I enjoyed the storyline of the book sale and finding the rare book. The author
did a great job of weaving the storylines together. This is a story of hope and despair, of trust and forgiveness. This is not a romance novel. Ties that Bind would be a great book for a book club discussion. The cover is an excellent representation of the book. I love it when they get it right. The book stood alone but I researched to see if there were other books in the series. There are! And they are now on my ‘to be read’ list, starting with Christy’s story.
