Will the magic of Christmas bring these two newlyweds closer together, or will the ghosts of the past lead them into a destructive discovery from which not even a Dickens’s Christmas can save them?
Mistletoe is beautiful and dangerous, much like the woman from Lord Frederick’s Percy’s past, so when he turns over a new leaf and arranges to marry for his estate, instead of his heart, he never expects the wrong bride to be the right choice. Gracelynn Ferguson never expected to take her elder sister’s place as a Christmas bride, but when she’s thrust into the choice, she will trust in her faithful novels and overactive imagination to help her not only win Frederick’s heart but also to solve the murder mystery of Havensbrook Hall before the ghosts from Frederick’s past ruin her fairytale future.

Summary
Audiobook Review: The Mistletoe Countess by Pepper Basham
I recently listened to The Mistletoe Countess, the first book in Pepper Basham’s Freddie and Grace series, and all I can say is: why did I wait so long? This book completely stole my heart and has easily become one of my all-time favorites.
From the very beginning, I was captivated by the story, and the narrator was absolutely perfect for the tone of the book. The performance brought the characters to life and enhanced all of the warmth, humor, charm, and emotion that make this story so special.
Freddie and Grace are simply adorable. Their relationship develops in such a beautiful and heartfelt way that I found myself smiling throughout much of the audiobook. Basham has a gift for creating characters who feel genuine and endearing, and I became completely invested in their journey.
As wonderful as the romance is, that’s not all this book has to offer. There are also mysteries woven into the story that add intrigue and keep the plot moving. Just when I thought I was settling into a charming historical romance, Basham layered in questions and secrets that had me eager to keep listening.
The combination of romance, humor, mystery, and memorable characters made this an unforgettable listening experience. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that before I had even finished processing the story, I had already downloaded the next two books in the series. I’m planning to start book two tonight, which probably tells you everything you need to know about how much I loved this one.
I’m a relatively new Pepper Basham fan, but so far every book I’ve read—or listened to—has been a winner. The Mistletoe Countess is a shining example of why she has earned such a devoted following. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys heartwarming historical romance, delightful characters, and stories that leave you smiling long after they end. ❤️📚🎧
