Summary
Audiobook Review: The Highland Heist by Pepper Basham
The Highland Heist is another fantastic installment in Pepper Basham’s Freddie and Grace Mystery series. I have absolutely loved bingeing this series, and by the time I finished this book, I was more than ready to jump straight into book five!
Freddie and Grace continue to be one of my favorite fictional couples. They have such a wonderful balance of humor, love, and unwavering support for one another that every scene they share is a joy to read. They’re the kind of characters you wish you could be friends with... and if we're being honest, who wouldn't want to marry someone like Freddie? 😊
One surprise for me was Grace’s sister. I wasn’t sure I was going to like her, and she certainly tested my patience at times. I’m hopeful she’ll continue to grow because I’d love to see a little redemption for her character.
This book also delivered several plot twists that caught me by surprise, keeping the mystery engaging from beginning to end. I especially enjoyed seeing Zara take on a more active role in the story. She continues to be a wonderful addition to the cast, and I loved getting to spend more time with her.
And then there’s Blake... He remains as intriguing as ever. Every time he appeared, I wanted to know more about him. As someone who loves a great spy character, I’m thrilled that his story is next because I couldn’t download book five fast enough!
Pepper Basham continues to blend mystery, adventure, humor, romance, and faith in a way that feels effortless. This series has quickly become one of my favorites, and The Highland Heist is another winner.
If you enjoy historical mysteries with lovable characters, witty banter, and a romance that continues to grow stronger with each book, I highly recommend the Freddie and Grace series. Just be warned—you'll probably find yourself downloading the next book as soon as you finish the last one! 📚❤️🕵️♀️
I was able to download audiobooks 1-4 from my library.
