Summary
Thank you, Alicia Ruggieri for writing a beautiful, thoughtprovoking novel. This is a novel of contrasts¬¬ too many to name them all, but some of them are: A woman loved and cherished vs. a woman used up and used yet; A barren, heart burdened to hold a child of her and her husband's love vs. a woman fertile, bitter and worn from motherhood lacking honor, love and appreciation from her husband; self¬sacrifice vs. self¬centeredness; hope vs. despair; faithfulness vs. unfaithfulness; and relationship vs. rulefollowing. I don't know if Ms. Ruggieri did it on purpose, but the name of the main character is Grace, and it is the grace of God which reigns over the circumstances of this story. It is rich with emotion. I found myself crying as I read, heartbroken along with the characters. My only complaint: It was over too soon! But then I guess that leaves the ending to my imagination where the story can live on as I want! Or maybe she has a sequel in mind!
