Book Title: The Body in the Beaver Pond
Book Author: Cathy Perkins
What do you like about this book:
Keri is desperately struggling to keep a Christmas Tree Farm in the Cascade Mountains viable as her realtor searches for a buyer. Out of work and divorced, Keri cannot afford to keep sinking money into the property no matter how beautiful the location. However, when her dog pulls a human arm out of the beaver pond located on the property, the property has to be pulled off the market as the crime scene is evaluated. Keri’s life is further disrupted when she becomes the police’s main suspect.
I enjoyed reading this mystery. The plot is intricate enough to maintain the reader’s interest, but not so intricate the reader gets lost in the details. Though I had a fairly good idea of who done it halfway through the book, there were a few surprises for me in the ending. There is quite a bit of humor in the story which adds to its entertainment value. I would caution recommending this book for the young reader as there are some adult situations, though no graphic sex scenes, and the story has a lot of mild profanity.
I would recommend this book for the adult reader who enjoys reading a good mystery.
