When a freak ice storm unexpectedly maroons them on the mountain, time spent with Noah becomes an awkward combination of pleasant and humiliating memories. Evidently, God isn't finished with them yet, for when circumstances turn dire, Noah gets to know his wife in a way that he never knew before.
At its core, this book is a remarkable story of unconditional love; exposing two lives that have been terribly ripped apart with little hope for reconciliation, yet miraculously experiencing a second chance. Sure, the story line is somewhat unrealistic in places, and Josephine is not your typical heroine; she's hard to understand or even like at some points. However, in the end, it's a good thing the author followed her heart all the way to "Sweetbriar Cottage".
