Audiobook Review: Stranded Ranch by Cindy Steel. Reviewed by Donna
Stranded Ranch by Cindy Steel is a sweet and cozy winter novella with plenty of flirting, humor, and romance. I’m a fan of Cindy Steel’s writing, and while I enjoyed this one, it didn’t capture me quite as much as some of her other books have.
Dusty and Lucy knew each other when they were younger, and circumstances bring them back together for a second chance at something more. Because this is a novella, their relationship develops fairly quickly, but their shared history helps make the faster pace work.
My favorite part was definitely Dusty. His almost nonstop flirting with Lucy was adorable and had me smiling throughout the audiobook. Even though I wasn't completely invested in the story, I have to give a book credit when I realize I've been smiling while listening to it! 😊
Steel’s writing is fun and lighthearted, making this an easy story to enjoy when you're in the mood for something that doesn't require a big emotional investment. I think readers looking for a short, sweet romance with a cozy winter setting may appreciate this one even more than I did.
I listened to the audiobook and thought the narrator did a great job bringing the characters and humor to life.
Overall, Stranded Ranch was cute, sweet, and enjoyable. It wasn't one of my favorite Cindy Steel books, but it still gave me plenty of reasons to smile, and sometimes that's exactly what you want from a cozy romance.
