All it takes is one cup of spiced chai, one spontaneous barista, and one unexpected assignment to turn his carefully balanced world upside down.
Winston “Ollie” Baldwin’s life is predictable and safe, just the way he likes it. An accountant by day and a cat dad by night, his daily highlight is his morning visit to the Coffee Loft, where Daisy Maxfield, the lively barista and devoted dog mom, serves up the best spiced chai— and the brightest smiles.
Ollie’s crush on Daisy is as big as his ledger is thick, but his courage to ask her out? Not so much. He’s resigned to admire her from afar, convinced she’s out of his league. That is until an unexpected favor for an old friend puts him into closer quarters with Daisy than he ever dreamed possible.
As Ollie navigates his suddenly less predictable and anything-but-boring work life, he finds that Daisy’s easygoing charm is helping him face his fears, one misadventure at a time. As these opposites are thrown together outside of the Coffee Loft, their connection deepens, showing Ollie that life might have more to offer than just balance sheets and quiet nights in.
Can a man who’s always played it safe in life and love learn to take the ultimate risk? Ollie’s about to find out that stepping out of his comfort zone might just lead to the best payoff yet.

Summary
Book Review: Spiced Chais and Secret Spies by Meg Easton
(A delightful addition to the Romancing the Spies series)
This charming novella is the perfect bite-sized addition to Meg Easton’s Romancing the Spies series which I highly recommend. With a closed-door romance, swoony kisses, and dual POV, it delivers all the heart-fluttering moments readers crave—especially if you love a “he falls first” storyline!
Ollie is a straightlaced, routine-loving accountant who starts every morning with a stop at Daisy’s coffee shop. Daisy, a vibrant and outgoing barista, always greets him with a sunny smile, secretly hoping he’ll finally work up the courage to ask her out. When a favor for an old high school friend pulls Ollie into an unexpected spying escapade, Daisy is pulled into the mission—giving them the perfect opportunity to connect beyond their daily coffee run.
Watching Ollie and Daisy team up was pure delight. Their chemistry is instant but gentle, built through shared laughs, awkward moments, and tender encouragement. Ollie is completely endearing in his quiet devotion, and Daisy's infectious energy brings him out of his shell. Their banter is charming, and the way they lift each other up is just heartwarming.
Fans of Meg Easton’s spy series will love the cameo from Jace, Ollie’s high school friend turned spy, which adds a fun layer of connection to the broader series universe. The pets, Roi and Prince Charming, steal the show with their clever names and quirky personalities—and their dog-cat meet-cute is one for the books!
This sweet, fast-paced novella had me smiling from start to finish. With just the right blend of romance, light intrigue, and humor, it’s a feel-good read that leaves your heart full. A must-read for fans of clean romance with a twist of adventure! You can read this as a stand alone. But I totally recommend the entire series. I have loved the other spy books she has written and I am anxiously awaiting the next one.
