Now a USA TODAY bestseller!
Casey knows the truth. But it won’t set her free.
Casey Cox’s DNA is all over the crime scene. There’s no use talking to police; they’ve failed her abysmally before. She has to flee before she’s arrested . . . or worse. The truth doesn’t matter anymore.
But what is the truth? That’s the question haunting Dylan Roberts, the war-weary veteran hired to find Casey. PTSD has marked him damaged goods, but bringing Casey back can redeem him. Though the crime scene seems to tell the whole story, details of the murder aren’t adding up.
Casey Cox doesn’t fit the profile of a killer. But are Dylan’s skewed perceptions keeping him from being objective? If she isn’t guilty, why did she run?
Unraveling her past and the evidence that condemns her will take more time than he has, but as Dylan’s damaged soul intersects with hers, he is faced with two choices: the girl who occupies his every thought is a psychopathic killer . . . or a selfless hero. And the truth could be the most deadly weapon yet.

Summary
Overall If I Run (If I Run #1) by Terri Blackstock (Goodreads Author) Rebecca Maney's review Mar 19, 16 · edit really liked it Read in March, 2016 \"There's blood on the bottom of my shoes.\" And with that discovery, Casey Cox decides to run for her life. Knowing that her best friend was murdered on her behalf is no consolation for her loss. Loss. It has surrounded Casey since she discovered her own father hanging in her home, at the age of twelve. No one would listen to her then and no one will listen to her now. They will never let her live long enough to expose the truth. Dylan Roberts is shocked to learn that his childhood friend, Brent Pace, has been murdered at the hands of a young woman whom he befriended; at least that is the opinion of many, including local police. Having served in the criminal investigations unit of the military, he agrees to act on behalf of Brent's parents as a private investigator, charged with tracking down the local woman accused of Brent's murder. She is extremely smart; stealthily alluding apprehension, but beyond that; lots of things just don't add up. \"If I Run\" moves quickly, but not too quickly. The steady pace leaves plenty of room for readers to get inside the minds of Casey and Dylan, sympathize with their plight and urge true justice to run its course. A wonderful beginning to a new series! I was given a copy of this book by the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion.
Violence Violence is descriptive and not graphic in just a couple of places.
