Summary
Protective Instincts is a romantic suspense by Shirlee McCoy and is the first in a series- Mission: Rescue. I am thrilled that I found this series and cannot wait for the next book in the series. I truly enjoyed the author’s writing style and plan to look for more of her books. In Protective Instincts, we open with lots of action as Raina is captured in Africa and the HEART team has been sent to rescue her. During her rescue she meets Samuel who will tug at her heart like noone has since she lost her husband and son. Jackson is part of the HEART rescue team and is intrigued by Raina. He helps deliver Samuel to her months later and must save her again as someone is stalking her. The author will tug at your heartstrings as Raina reminisces about her lost family and tries to move on. The simplest memories are sometimes the most sorrowful. Jackson is a great catch. He is gallant, courageous and hunky. One of my favorite male characters. We get to meet several members of the HEART team. Chance is Jackson’s brother and seems to be in charge. Stella who partners with Jackson on this mission and the one that saved Raina. She also has some tension with Chance which may show up in one of the books in the series. Boone rounded out the fourth member of the team and was quite a character. I am definitely looking forward to his book. I highly recommend the series. I think you will love Jackson as much as I do.
