Summary
Reviewer Name: one well¬read chick Protection for Hire is action¬packed, romantic and comical. But that is not why I loved this novel. Nope I loved it because the antagonist, Tessa Lancaster, is totally willing to kickbutt. Literally. This heroine is not waiting around for anyone to come rescue her. She completely capable of rescuing herself. Tessa used to be an enforcer for her Uncle Teruo's Japanese mafia gang in San Francisco. As a consequence of her and her family's lifestyle Tessa had to go to jail for a crime she did not commit. Now that she is release she has completely turned her back on her pervious jobs and wants one where she can make an honest living. Unfortunately for Tessa her reputation proceeds her and not many people are willing to hire her. Not until Elizabeth St. Amant and her young son need her abilities as a bodyguard to protect them. Charles Britton, Elizabeth's lawyer, is the one who is responsible for Tessa's maximum sentence to prison but Tessa does not know that. As much as he wishes not to Charles comes to care for Tessa but Tessa is unwilling to let the guard around her heart down. Plus they both have a job keeping Elizabeth and her son safe. But will it be too much for Tessa as her past continues to hunt her?
